Visitors Welcome

Ryton Golf Club is a private members club that provides both its members and visitors with an excellent and challenging golfing experience, combined with great services from start to finish. The course is beautifully presented and carefully maintained, providing a parkland setting on the banks of the River Tyne.  Our clubhouse provides a relaxing and comfortable environment to enjoy the hospitality and superb catering on offer.

Originally founded on the Ryton Willows as a working men's golf club in 1891, the course moved to its present location in 1911, and in the 1970s developed from the original 9 hole course to the present 18 hole course, with the new clubhouse added in 1994.  The golf course has continued to improve over the years, with the addition of fairway drainage, new bunkers and extensive areas of tree planting all adding to the experience.

Ryton Golf Club is also affectionately called “Royal Ryton” by members and visitors alike, emanating from the family atmosphere that exists within the club.

The course itself provides a true test for golfers of all proven abilities, with undulating, though generally level fairways providing the platform to the most perfect of greens.  Parts of the course have been set aside as areas of wildlife conservation and with the River Tyne forming a natural boundary to one side of the course, Ryton Golf Club offers a superb environment in which to play the great game of golf.
