The Club is deeply saddened to announce the death of a long-standing and much loved member, Michael Moffitt, at the far too early age of 71.  Michael had been a member of the Club for the best part of 30 years, served on the Board as a Director and Finance Director, and was Club Chairman up until 2020.  He was Club Captain in 2004, following in the footsteps of various family members who had also been Club Captains in the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s and after whom the Moffitt Trophy is named.  Michael lived and breathed Ryton Golf Club and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time. 

Michael's funeral will take place on Monday 22nd December 2025 at 0945 hrs, Stella Catholic Church, Stella Rd, Blaydon NE21 4LR.  Everyone is welcome to the wake afterwards, which will be held at Ryton Golf Club.
